The track titled “Nakamba” was first introduced to the world during the inaugural edition of the Marvelous Nakamba under 17 invitational tournament. Bulawayo based amapiano artist Tunis penned the song which was constantly part of the DJ’s playlist at the tournament.
According to the Matshobana born musician the song was inspired by Nakamba’s charitable work done by Nakamba and his charity foundation in assisting with school fees to over 1 000 children dotted across the selected five of ten provinces in Zimbabwe incluiding his rural home Hwange.
“I was inspired by the work done by Nakamba both on and off the field incluiding the charitable initiatives that are being done for a number of children. I chose him through the song,” said Tunis who hopes that the song will be constant feature on some of Zimbabwe’s radio channels.
Speaking about the song Nakamba said that the fact that a song was made about him shows the impact he has done in football so far and hopes he continues to grow.
“Having artists sing about what I do shows me that I must be doing something right and people love it I’m happy about this track and thank you to Tunis for creating a tune dedicated to me,” said Marvelous Nakamba.
Produced by a talented young producer Sensei who has over the years has been trying to make a name for him in the music scene. Previously Tunis has done tracks like Benithin, Birthday yami, Sthakathi Vrrr pha and Sho Neh a song that is currently making waves in his township.
The musician lists establishing a recording stable that will focus on promoting new artists as one of his visions. As he believes this will add to a stop to drug abuse and other behaviors that are not progressive to young people.
