Highlanders FC Assistant Coach

A big round of applause to every individual who made the tournament successful it was a great exposure to me as a coach being in such kind of atmosphere. It gave me a hope for my career playing against big clubs in the country like Dynamos and Highlanders that’s a dream for every coach.” – Lawson Nkomo (Njube Hotspurs)

“Well it was a marvelous tournament just like the name of the founder of this initiative we were happy because our team Bulawayo City Fc was on the world lime light. We were able to showcase the talent we have, despite being knocked off early. It was a platform to also interact with other coaches and players. We shared ideas on how we can best improve our junior football, curb age cheating. Players were also excited to be on the radar of football scouts and to rub shoulders with other clubs from other parts of Zimbabwe. We hope we will be a part of the nest one.”- Bruce Tshuma (Bulawayo City FC)

“After the trauma caused by the Covid-19 pandemic induced lockdowns which resulted in non-activity in the context of football the Marvelous Nakamba tournament came at the right time exploding on the scene injecting life and hive of activity. The launch, press releases bought publicity and reminded the nation of its need to stage a football fiesta of this magnitude more often to afford the boys the much needed exposure and opportunity to showcase their football talents.  At the same time reminding the nation at large that the juniors and youth football coaches and all the supporting staff are still committed to the nurturing and grooming of the young talent. This has helped to build the confidence of players and galvanized the coaches to even work harder to get the best out of the youngster and preparing for the future.”Charles Dhliwayo (Chicken Inn FC)

“First of all I would like thank you for the opportunity you have given me to talk about the tournament. It was a great honor to be part and parcel of the Marvelous Nakamba Foundation invitational tournament especially at its edition, we learnt a lot during the tournament as we were gathered as football people from all corners of Zimbabwe. I also believe the players learnt as their witnessed the good job that was done for them by their big brother Marvelous Nakamba as they were taken good care of from the first day until the last day of the tournament. They were given a platform to showcase their talents and that on its own should open their minds and take the beautiful game seriously.” –McMillan “Kima” Sibanda (Hwange Dynamo)

“I would love to give credit to the organisers this was a well thought plan, the tournament was fantastic. To the players it gave them courage that they can make it especially after meeting their favorite player Marvelous Nakamba also playing in front such huge crowds. It was a good tournament full of interesting lessons, it was a great experience for all of us.” – Siza Khoza (Highlanders FC)
